I agree that a large majority of people here are not using the term “porn addict” in its true, clinical sense. They are simply calling themselves that to emphasize just how much they love and watch porn and because for many, myself included, it is a turn on! And it’s not fair that someone who watches 6-8 hours of some show or movie and doesn’t get anything productive done (waiting time) is called a ‘binge watcher” when people like us do the exact same thing, just replace “This Is Us” or Game Of Thrones” or whatever with porn, and we are called porn addicts, perverts and jerk junkies (which we may be) and accused of “wasting time”! This morning I spent 5 hours watching porn and masturbating and didn’t get anything tangible accomplished (except enjoying myself immensely) but that’s “bad”. If I had spent 5 hours watching “Yellowstone” and not got anything done it would be “okay” and someone would say “Oh, I love that show too”! At least on here I can say what I did and someone else would say “Oh, I love doing that to!” and it’s all good.
I’m retired and single and for the last 2-3 years I’ve started almost everyday, way more often than not, watching porn and masturbating the morning away and then doing it some more in the afternoon. Sure, I’ve put off doing things, dishes, laundry, etc. because I couldn’t or wouldn’t want to stop masturbating, but I meet all my social and financial obligations and have never missed something truly important because of it. As was pointed out in above posts a true addict would be blowing off everything in order to indulge in his or her addiction, whatever that addiction was.
Describing our “addiction” as a “habit” seems more accurate to me. It has definitely become my normal routine and, on those rare days when I can’t do it, I do feel a little “off”. I know I’m “missing” something and I know what that that something is. I’m going on a 5 day golf trip in a couple of weeks with a group of folks and I must admit that I’m feeling a little “anxious” about being out of my “routine” but that will make it that much more enjoyable when I get back home and spend the next 2 or 3 days making up for it!
As far as using terms like porn addict, chronic masturbator, masturbation addict, jerk junkie, jack off slut, etc., a lot of people just get turned on by them, I know I do! And I will use those terms when describing myself on this site, and others, knowing that most of my fellow masturbators understand what I mean.
