I recently listened to a radio documentary on pornography which questioned the effects on young male’s views about sex and relationships. The thesis was that the all-out pervasiveness of porn was leading to a “rape culture” on college campuses, a general migration of male tastes in porn to the more extreme end of the spectrum,  a further marginalization of women as objects, and the corruption of western youth to the point where the only reference point for their own sex lives is the often times violent and degrading porn they illicitly view on-line.    

According to a study conducted by Dr. Amanda Roberts and Dr. John Turner of the School of Psychology at the University of East London, one-fifth of boys said they could not become sexually stimulated without watching pornography. The pitifully meager sample size of the survey rendered the results laughable but I include it anyways as an opinion about what is happening with our youth. However, I do believe that the assertion speaks to a general trend though, that porn is effecting society as a whole.

I must admit that I have recently viewed some violent porn, a scene where a group of men gangbang a 20 something-year-old woman. Reflecting upon it now in the cold light of day, I can see how such pornography would give young impressionable minds an extremely distorted impression about sex and relationships.

Should those young minds have access to such pornography? Of course not. Although I wouldn’t want to keep their minds from developing naturally, the stimulation of such porn is just too much.

Do I feel guilty now for watching such pornography and contributing in my own small way to a culture that objectifies and sometimes degrades women with such imagery?

The answer is two-fold. Just as we permit very violent or gory Hollywood movies  that unrealistically glorify gun violence or splatter the silver screen with some poor victim’s organs, we should as a free society be tolerant of those who want to bring rough but consensual sex to willing adults. People just have to be smart enough to see what that type of porn really is; a fantasy that has very little basis in what goes on in the world.

The other half of the answer to whether I feel guilty about watching such porn is a very personal response. Guilty? Fuck no. I am a chronic masturbator, addicted to pornography. The sight of a group of very virile men man-handling a woman and rough fucking all of her holes is simply entertainment and more fuel for my all consuming masturbation habit. I do not worry that I may or may not have a distorted impression about sex and relationships. I freely admit I already am a fucked-up pathetic loser living alone in his aging parent’s basement, jerking his penis all of the time.

I know that there are many feminists and politically correct people out there who would disagree with me about my standpoint on such pornography. I believe that it is just a matter of perspective though. They seem to see hardcore rough gangbang porn as an aberration, unrealistic in its depiction of sexuality. But what if you view the issue from another angle, comparing porn to jogging.

Most people can jog for a few minutes just like most non-chronic masturbators can fuck. At a higher level of fitness and training there are athletes who participate in organized amateur sports. You could compare those people to men and women who fuck exceedingly well. And then there are the athletes who are at the pinnacle of their sport, like Usain Bolt. Do we criticize him for being freakishly fast or strong? No. Why then should we feel any different about porn star James Deen who makes so much good gangbang pornography or the actresses he works with who can take seemingly endless scenes of double anal penetration with a half-dozen men? I say their achievement fucking in porn is no less significant than someone earning a gold medal in their chosen sport.

Ultimately what I believe is that real-life intercourse is inexorably going out of style as porn becomes more pervasive. The widespread availability of pornography is probably already leading to reduced birthrates in the developed world as masturbation replaces procreation.  Once computers and internet porn is widely available to poorer and poorer countries, the world population growth will slow and then reverse.

I believe that chronic addicted masturbators and prolific consumers of pornography such as us are at the vanguard of a new hyper-sexual, sex-less age. Actual fucking, the act of inserting a penis into a warm, living, receptive orifice will become both specialized and rare. As more and more men and women discover multi-day edging and orgasm denial, society will be divided into the 1% who are paid to fuck on-line for the remaining 99% who simply jill or jack-off while watching them.

To that end I say to you my brothers and sisters in masturbation addiction, bate more and more. Share your thoughts and ideas about masturbation with others. Fuel their bates. And lastly, feel good about what you’re doing. Masturbation is great.
