Orgasmic frequency and plasma testosterone levels in normal human males.

Abstract

Twenty males participated in a 2-month study examining the relationship between 8 a.m. plasma testosterone levels and orgasmic frequency. Within subjects, higher levels of testosterone are associated with periods of sexual activity. Over subjects, however, the direction of the relationship is reversed. Mean testosterone levels were higher for sexually less active individuals.

Pee-wee Herman, defends public masturbation arrest in Playboy interview

This is a really stupid argument, supported by a really ignorant “sex expert”. I’m right handed and usually masturbate with the left hand. I doubt I am unique.

the embattled entertainer has decided, one last time, to defend his biggest disgrace: a public masturbation charge in November of 1991, where Reubens was allegedly caught, pee-wee in hand, in an adult movie theater in Sarasota, Florida. Reubens pled no contest to avoid a trial, but always maintained his innocence.
"Had we gone to trial, we had ready an expert from the Masters and Johnson Institute who was going to testify that in 30 years of research on masturbation the institute had never found one person who masturbated with his or her nondominant hand. I’m right-handed, and the police report said I was jerking off with my left hand. That would have been the end of the case right there, proof it couldn’t have been me," Reubens said in an interview

Science discovers the basis for cuckoldry

Science has finally discovered a fact we masturbators have known all along:  Masturbators get married while Real Men get laid. When a woman wants a husband, a wimpy chronic masturbator is a good safe choice. But when she wants to get her brains fucked out …

Women See ‘Good Mate’ Traits in Effeminate Men | LiveScience

Women see the traits that make a good husband in male faces that tend toward female, a new study finds. …

Similarly, How Women Pick Mates vs. Flings depends on masculinity.

Women seem to judge potential mates by how masculine their features are, new research shows. Men with square jaws and well-defined brow ridges are seen as good short-term partners, while those with more feminine traits such as a rounder face and fuller lips are perceived as better long-term mates.

Overwhelmingly, participants said those with more masculine features were likely to be risky and competitive and also more apt to fight, challenge bosses, cheat on spouses and put less effort into parenting.  Those with more feminine faces were seen as good parents and husbands, hard workers and emotionally supportive mates … Despite all the negative attributes, when asked who they would choose for a short-term relationship, women still selected the more masculine looking men.

Most tellingly,Fertile Women Prefer Manly Men

A woman prefers a more masculine man when she is fertile and looking for a fling rather than a mate for life, according to a new study. … The finding suggests the value that women place on masculinity changes with context and with women’s reproductive cycles and immediate goals.

Women might be drawn to Brad Pitt types at the peak of their cycles for reasons related to evolutionary biology. Masculine bodies tend to have higher circulating levels of the hormone testosterone. … Men with hard bodies and sculpted jaws may therefore have better genes for producing better babies, so it would make sense for fertile women to be attracted to them. … This could also explain why women tend to prefer masculine men when they only want a fling.

As this study illustrates, women tend to prefer more feminine body types when they are less fertile, probably because high levels of testosterone makes men less likely to stay around.

A research on the relationship between ejaculation and serum testosterone level in men

Abstract  The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of the relationship between ejaculation and serum testosterone level in men. The serum testosterone concentrations of 28 volunteers were investigated daily during abstinence periods after ejaculation for two phases. The authors found that the fluctuations of testosterone levels from the 2nd to 5th day of abstinence were minimal. On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline (P<0.01). No regular fluctuation was observed following continuous abstinence after the peak. Ejaculation is the precondition and beginning of the special periodic serum testosterone level variations, which would not occur without ejaculation. The results showed that ejaculation-caused variations were characterized by a peak on the 7th day of abstinence; and that the effective time of anejaculation, is 7 days minimum. These data are the first to document the phenomenon of the periodic change in serum testosterone level; the correlation between ejaculation and periodic change in the serum testosterone level, and the pattern and characteristics of the periodic change.

One reason why humans are special and unique: We masturbate. A lot.

from Bering in Mind: One reason why humans are special and unique: We masturbate. A lot..  a long article on masturbation in human psychology

… Rather, if you really want to know about a person’s hidden sexual desires, then find out what’s on his or her mind’s eye during the deepest throes of masturbation.

This conjuring ability to create fantasy scenes in our heads that literally bring us to orgasm when conveniently paired with our dexterous appendages is an evolutionary magic trick that I suspect is uniquely human. It requires a cognitive capacity called mental representation (an internal “re-presentation” of a previously experienced image or some other sensory input) that many evolutionary theorists believe is a relatively recent hominid innovation….

Concerning Specific Forms of Masturbation

Concerning Specific Forms of Masturbation – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A book by Wilhelm Reich

The way people masturbate indicative of sexual potency

Reich’s work with patients at the clinic was often related to problems of diminished sexual potency, or impotence. He therefore decided to look closer at such factors as (1) where do they masturbate? (2) when do they masturbate? (3) with what materials do they masturbate? (4) with what fantasies do they masturbate? (5) how often do they masturbate? (6) in what bodily posture do they masturbate, and is that posture related to any childhood event or events? and (7) with what furniture do they masturbate, and what associations does the act have with that furniture?

From surveying these aspects Reich wanted to separate out healthy forms of masturbation from unhealthy ones.

[edit]Four categories of male masturbation
  1. Against the sheet or an improvised vulva (shirt, pillow, etc.), lying face down, and without the assistance of the hands, thrusting the pelvis rhythmically.
  2. Using the hands, lying on the side or in a bathtub, by far the most common form.
  3. Lying on the back using only the hands.
  4. In front of a mirror; while reading rape scenes (a very frequent occurrence, Reich remarked); on the toilet; in public parks (although hidden behind bushes); mutual masturbation with friends etc.

Evolutionary psychologists decipher the "Rosetta stone" of human sexuality

By Jesse Bering

If you’ve ever had a good, long look at the human phallus, whether yours or someone else’s, you’ve probably scratched your head over such a peculiarly shaped device. Let’s face it—it’s not the most intuitively shaped appendage in all of evolution. But according to evolutionary psychologistGordon Gallup of the State University of New York at Albany, the human penis is actually an impressive “tool” in the truest sense of the word, one manufactured by nature over hundreds of thousands of years of human evolution. You may be surprised to discover just how highly specialized a tool it is. Furthermore, you’d be amazed at what its appearance can tell us about the nature of our sexuality.  … more
