Porn Research

…. Our project is concerned with the everyday uses of pornography, and how the people who use it feel it fits into their lives. Pornography is of course a highly topical issue, subject to many opposing views and ‘strong opinions’. And we are not saying that there are no moral or political issues.  But we are saying that the voices of users and enjoyers have been swamped.  In fact, there is very little research that engages with the users of pornography, asking how, when and why they turn to it.

We want to gather the thoughts and responses of people who have chosen to use pornography of their own accord.  We believe that there can be many different and complicated reasons for looking at pornography.  We also don’t believe that all the materials that go under that label, ‘pornography’, are the same – only to be distinguished by how ‘extreme’ or ‘explicit’ they are.

Survey: Most admit to masturbation – UPI.com

Eighty-six percent of U.S. adults say they indulge in sexual self-gratification — 18 percent say they masturbate daily, a survey indicates.

The survey, commissioned by Adam & Eve, a retailer of adult products, indicates 18 percent say they masturbate one to three times per month, 17 percent say they rarely self-satisfy and 14 percent say they never participate in the act of masturbation.

“Masturbation is a healthy sexual outlet,” Dr. Kat Van Kirk, a sex and relationship expert, says in a statement.

“Research shows it can help individuals cope with stress, improve the immune system and it enhances partnered sex. Masturbation is a great form of preventative medicine.”

How America Masturbates

Forgive the hyperbolic headline. It’s not true, of course, that the data from the NSSHB, or from any other quantitative survey for that matter, can tell us much about precisely how Americans masturbate. Online surveys, statistical software, and the soft focus of a nationally representative sample all obscure the gentle (or rough) touch of a back of a hand, the swirling of finger tip or elbow in just the right spot, the heat we make between ourselves and our own bodies. How America masturbates will probably remain a mystery, and our sex lives may be better for it. But how often and with whom we masturbate are questions that researchers did ask, and when 5,865 people ages 14 to 94 responded, it’s worth a look.

Study Commissioned by Kink.com

In the study of 315 men between the ages of 25 – 54, not only do a great majority support couples in their right to consensually please one-another as they wish, their support of historically taboo activities is refreshingly overwhelming. According to survey responses, 37% of men would be interested in having sex in public and 30% of men would possibly be interested in tying someone up or being tied up assuming safety and a willing partner. A little more mainstream, but deviant according to historical social mores, 53% of respondents said they get sexually aroused from seeing people other than their partner(s) nude and 52% are sexually aroused watching others have sex – 47% of whom are “Somewhat/Very Religious.”

Cam4 blog | Just WHO is Jerking Off Anyway?

Jerking off has always been cloaked in secrecy and shame. Great thing about Cam4 and the internet is that those days are over….or at least internet porn makes jerking off a lot easier and fun.

The fact that so many people are too embarrassed to confess that they do take part in this natural function frequently has probably skewed the results of sexual studies for the last century.

Absence of orgasm-induced prolactin secretion in a healthy multi-orgasmic male subject

.In several studies we have recently demonstrated that orgasm induces prolactin secretion in healthy males and females. This suggests that prolactin may form a feedback regulator of threfractory period following orgasm. To examine this position we investigated the prolactin response of a healthy multi-orgasmic male subject. Blood was drawn continuously during masturbation-induced orgasm. The prolactin response of the case-subject was compared with that of nine healthy adult men with a normal refractory period. The case-subject showed no prolactin response to three orgasms. Data from this multi-orgasmic subject support the hypothesized role of plasma prolactin in contributing to sexual-satiation mechanisms.

The experimental session was conducted as described previously.3 – 6 Briefly, whilst viewing a documentary film blood was drawn continuously from participants and divided into 10 min intervals. The film switched to erotic scenes after 20 min and again after 60 min, with subjects required to masturbate until orgasm at these times. The experimental session was conducted asdescribed previously.3 – 6 Briefly, whilst viewing adocumentary film blood was drawn continuouslyfrom participants and divided into 10 min intervals. The film switched to erotic scenes after 20 minand again after 60 min, with subjects required tomasturbate until orgasm at these times.

Dr. M. Joycelyn Elders: ’30 percent of our healthcare cost related to sexuality’ – National Sex & Relationships | Examiner.com

Of course we’ve always known, anecdotally, or at least assumed, that nearly everyone masturbates, but data from the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior confirms it: Nearly everyone masturbates regularly, and they do so throughout their lifetime, from adolescence through to at least their 70s. Among men, solo masturbation was more commonly reported than most partnered sexual behaviors for ages 14 through 24 and among those aged 50 years or older, with as much as 68.6 percent of men reporting solo masturbation during the past month. Among women, solo masturbation was reported by more than 40 percent of all women under 70 within the past year, and a greater proportion of those ages 14 to 17 reported lifetime solo masturbation compared with any other sexual behavior

Male Heterosexuality Research Project

51% of our straight guys believe that stroking another guys dick is completely acceptable between straight men!

Yes, you read that right. Over half of our straight guys think it is perfectly fine to wank another guys dick.

What’s more, a whopping 76% think that watching a guy stroking is acceptable too.

But, what’s perhaps the most surprising, and again extremely supportive of Conran’s proposal that there is a distinct fetish for cock and masturbation, is that only 43% believe it’s reasonable for straight guys to watch porn of gay sex.

Our straight guys think that stroking another guys cock is more acceptable than watching gay porn.
